Google was buggy today

I guess Google was buggy today. For sometime, all my searches were labeled as “this site may harm your computer.” Google uses this to indicate search results that may install malware.

As you can see below, even Google’s own site was labeled as harmful.

If Python was a religion…

Python would be Humanism: It’s simple, unrestrictive, and all you need to follow it is common sense. Many of the followers claim to feel relieved from all the burden imposed by other languages, and that they have rediscovered the joy of programming. There are some who say that it is a form of pseudo-code.

From here, where you can find other programming languages.

Linux-OMAP nightly builds

One man’s adventure into the World of OMAP

It begun yesterday when I laid my hands on a OMAP5912 OSK. The board was dead, just spitting out some dots through the serial port when turned on. My first quest was to resurrect it by flashing a new u-boot. This was done with Windows and a serial cable as there was no USB A-to-A cable available. Unfortunately I could not find a GNU/Linux application to do it via /dev/ttyS0. A TI application was used as instructed here. Now after setting up tftp the board is booting fine. Thanks for the help of Keppler and Anderson.

Pygments test

This is a test post to see how code highlighting looks using Pygments. The CSS styles outputted from pygmentize -f html -S default were added to the blog template, and the source code example from ASPN was highlighted with pygmentize -f html hello.py.

Now my N800 boots from a MMC card

I have just finished following this how-to at maemo.org that explains the steps necessary to have the N800 boot from a MMC card. I’ve used the latest OS image: RX-34_2007SE_4.2007.38-2_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin. Now it takes a little over 24s for the device to boot, compared to approximately 38s for booting from flash. I was expecting a bigger performance improvement, but a new kernel is needed as noted here.
