Simple network presence announcement and discovery

I’ve just created a Google Code project called netpresence to host my very simple Python module for network presence announcement and discovery. Projects that need server/service discovery, similar to SSDP or SLP, are very good candidates to use it. In my case, I only need to know when other Linux boxes are running dynamically created Pyro daemons for some distributed work. By the way, netpresence is GPL.

Network presence is just a very simple mechanism to allow computers to find other computers in a local area network without prior configuration.
